My Thoughts…

Posted by Deborah under: Deborah's Thoughts .

First and foremost I want to thank my Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ, for choosing me & my family for this journey.

I was relieved to hear the diagnosis of ovarian cancer on September 21st, 2006. I was beginning to think I was imagining the problems I was having physically, for the last 6 months. I Praised God the doctors had found something wrong, to explain everything that was happening to me. My family and I have now been traveling this road with our Lord Jesus Christ for almost 19 months. I have had 2 surgeries, 5 different chemotherapy drugs, with only 3 months off of therapy. However, whether I am taking steps on my own, or God is carrying me, I know He is beside me every moment and knows where this journey will take my family and I next.

I am thankful for every breath I take and every moment I spend with my family and friends. I am also thankful for all the prayers that have been prayed and continue to be prayed for my family and I. I know God is in every detail, even the ones we may consider to be bad. I have had and continue to have numerous opportunities to speak about my Lord Jesus Christ and my Faith, with many Doctors, Nurses, hospital personal who do tests on me or preformed procedures on me, and other cancer patients. I would never have had this blessed opportunity if I did not have cancer. God has a reason for everything that happens in our lives. I pray that anyone I come in contact will see Jesus in me an I can be used for God’s Glory!

Here are some of the verses that I have been resting in:

13I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
-Philippians 4:13 (ESV)

14The LORD is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.
-Psalm 118:14
(ESV)

28Have you not known? Have you not heard?The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
29He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
30Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
31but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.
-
Isaiah 40:28-31 (ESV)

I would not be able to walk this journey, without my Lord, or my family who have been there through the ugly days of sickness, days when I could not lift my head off the bed, or walk on my own. Praise God I am now able to do most things for myself almost every day.

We have also been blessed to have our church, Journey of Faith, filled with brothers and sisters in Christ who have come along side us to help. They have helped with everything from house cleaning, putting up a hand rail for me on the steps to our front door, bringing meals to the hospital for my family and meals to our home. I have also been blessed with many friends who gave me rides to Doctors appointments, and friends who have come to sit with us when I have had to make trips to the emergency room or have procedures done. I am so thankful to ALL who have been there for my family and I!!

I also want to thank my employer, World Impact, Inc. for their prayers and support through this time. They are an organization that is dedicated to bringing God’s hope to a hopeless situation, even if it’s bringing God’s hope to one of their own.

Our God is Awesome, Faithful, Righteous and Just. He is in control of all everything, His Will be done. It is His choice to make to leave me here for what ever time He KNOWS I can bring HIM GLORY.

God Bless everyone who reads this and responds by writing and or praying for all of us. May God keep you and your family in His tender care.

Your Sister In Christ,
Deborah
